Okay, so we've been falling deeper and deeper into despair living on unemployment and trying hard just to pay utilities and get food. But in the space of an hour, it's all changed!
I was down about not getting a part in the play I auditioned for, then found out that GameStop had let me go without so much as a phone call. So I was pretty depressed.
Then my phone rang, but I accidentally silenced it because the alarm for leaving to go over to my dad's for dinner was going off at the same time. I realized the number was the barn I had applied for a job at a month ago. I called back right away. Come to find out, the woman just had a worker quit, and she was going through the list of applicants from a month ago. I was one of the 12(out of 80+) she'd written down. I was second on the list, and the first person hadn't answered their phone. So I start tomorrow morning! I am a horse person to the extreme. Just being near a horse is amazing to me, I think they're the most beautiful animals. I have always wanted to work at a barn, this is really my dream job!
Then we got a text from our friend, saying that he had found a job for my fiance! He might not start until April, but he'll be working as an MOA at a doctor's office, while going to school to be an RN(state's paying for that, through the unemployment office, he just has to make less than $13.50 at any job he gets before finishing school).
Things are really looking up!

Wonderful! Long time no read, where have you been?
@Undercover_Librarian - It's not like I've been busy, I just stopped posting so much, I got distracted I guess(ooh, something shiny!). I'm trying to get back into the habit though!
@Child_of_the_Earth - I know how you feel. Law school, and all the events of life, conspire to keep me from posting on Xanga. But I do keep up with who's on and who's not.
@Undercover_Librarian - At least you have a valid excuse.
I'm just easily distracted!
@Child_of_the_Earth - that sure is a gorgeous horse hiding behind your blog. I can't really see it well, except for the few second while your page is loading.
@Undercover_Librarian - that was my wallpaper on my desktop recently, and I thought I'd change it from the "happy holidays" background until I revamp the layout(gotta find photoshop and reinstall it though, had to reformat the computer recently)
'grats on everything, I am happy fo ryou guys, Now you can afford his neutering too
I suppose that sometimes good things do happen to good people. Everything will start to get better, really.Â
Congrats!!!
That's wonderful news! Glad to hear things are looking up for ya.
Thank you for posting that encouraging news! I actually got goose bumps thinking that there may be a fun job out there for me too. I never thought about working at a stable but why not? I've owned horses all of my adult life, but when I think of employment, I think office. Gotta look outside the cubicle!
@bosefius - do you think the SPCA will do his?
@Auxesis - @Joeyj1220 - @ErisianDiva78 - Thanks everyone!
@judyrutrider - Office jobs appeal to me, too, but given the choice, even though I have a condition which makes my feet hurt really badly, I'd rather be in a barn with insoles in my shoes.
On my lunch break I just sat in the hayloft and watched a retired race horse in his paddock. He has such heart. He'd still rather be racing, even though he's in pain, and limps. But he still tried running for a few minutes. That to me is absolute beauty. I love computers, but honestly, can a computer awe you like that?
@Child_of_the_Earth - We can hope, they have great deals.
@Child_of_the_Earth - You know the saying: The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a (wo)man.
