Okay, this is something I'm sick of hearing get tossed around. Not because I'm what people like to call an "Obamamaniac"(I voted for him, sure, but that doesn't mean I think he's infallible, thank you), but because it shows a complete lack of knowledge of the term "anti-Christ" and concept of "the beast" spoken of in the Book of Revelation(not Revelations as these same people like to call it). First, those two are not the same. The term "anti-Christ" is not mentioned in Revelation. The term is only used a few times in the first and second letters of John, and refers simply to people who deny Jesus as the savior:
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.(1 John 2:18)
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.(1 John 2:22)
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.(1 John 4:3)
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.(2 John 1:7)
Doesn't sound much like what most people think of when they throw around the term "anti-Christ," huh? Perhaps they mean the figure of "the beast" spoken of in Revelation...
From Chapter 13 of the book of Revelation:
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast?Who is able to make war with him?And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear.He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.Hmm...neither of those sound much like our President, either...
(it's speculated that the "beast" was intended to be Nero, but that's another story

)
So before you go spouting off again about how President Obama MUST be the Anti-Christ, take a moment to think about how ignorant of your own holy book you are. Spend a little more time reading your Bible than your mass emails. And
beware the false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ferocious wolves(Oh yeah, the Pagan can quote the Bible too

).
Did you honestly know these verses? Did you also think that the Anti-Christ was mentioned in Revelation? Did you think that the Anti-Christ was the same as "the beast?"

The "Anti Christ" of the white house is long gone..Let's hope Obama stays away from his steps
Thanks for posting this! I honestly didn't know this. I'm not Christian, but I love learning about religion. I have heard people talk about the anti-Christ and the end of the world together, so I wrongly thought they were related.
I'm reading the Bible, but I'm only on The Book of Numbers so far. I can't wait to get to Book of Revelation.
Thanks again for posting this!

BUT HIS MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN!
(That was sarcasm. In reality, I totally agree with you.)
I have to agree that he isn't the anti-Christ and I think that Martin Luther was right when he said that Revelation should not be included in the Bible because it would be too confusing for the average Christian. So many divisions within the Christian church have happened because of people's views on that book.
As far as the anti-Christ, my training in the ministry saw pastors and scholars claim that the man of lawlessness as described in Thessalonians and the beast in Revelation to be the hierarchy of the Catholic church.
I fear your explanation may fall on deaf ears, but it's a point well made. Unfortunately, many who claim Obama is the antichrist get their image of the antichrist from various movies, speakers, and extra-biblical books, and probably aren't too terribly interested in dong a great deal of down and dirty research when soemone can just "tell them".
Hopefully, I'm just cynical on this.
But it's a well made point. I at this time have no reason to believe Obama is either "the" or "an" antichrist. I do, however, believe there are always possibilities in days yet to come, but that's why we have to remain vigilant, even when all seems hunky-dorey.
Of course, they thought Clinton was the Harbinger of Doom too.
